Registered Pet Cats
It’s the best feeling in the world to have your cat is reunited with you by a caring neighbor! You must be a member to register your cat. (Join Here). Please send an email to the address below to register your cats with us. This service is only available to Lakewood Estates Civic Association members.
NOTE: Although many residents do put contact information here for you to use directly, our registration may have additional information in it that does not appear on the website so please contact Judy Ellis at lecapresident@gmail.com or 864-3957 to place your ad or if you are not able to find the owner of a lost animal using the information on this page.
Animal Fund of Lakewood
Because of the number of animals routinely abandoned within Lakewood’s borders, we have established the AFL – Animal Fund of Lakewood – to help pay for their health examinations, medical care, neutering and other needs to make them suitable for adoption. A local vet gives us a discount for these animals, and the AFL pays those bills. We do ask the adopting person to contribute to that Fund to the extent they can, but that is not a requirement. The AFL has a foster home network with a coordinator so that animals can be placed temporarily until healthy and adopted, and the network works with both the county’s Animal Services department and various rescue groups.
To contribute to the fund, send a check payable to AFL, PO Box 15903, St Petersburg FL 33733. For more information about fostering, and/or if you can be a foster home for a day or a week (or more), contact Melanie Henson at melsmail70@gmail.com.

Bogart
12-year-old neutered male. He weighs about 13 pounds and is solid black. He is a strictly inside cat but still has his claws. He has many allergies and frequently pulls out the fur on his legs. He is normally social with people and dogs but in the outdoor world he is likely to be terrified. We call him by meowing for him. He also responds to the name, Gato. He can be lured by shaking a bag of treats.
