Become a Member of the Lakewood Estates Civic Association
Stay informed about events, services and crime watch alerts in our neighborhood by joining the Lakewood Estates Civic Association. Membership is open to anyone who lives here, whether as an owner or a tenant, and to anyone who owns property here and lives elsewhere.
This is one of the oldest neighborhood organizations in the city, with a large, active and growing membership. Members stay in touch with each other, keep an eye out for suspicious activity, and take part in the civic causes we support — free swimming lessons for the area’s underprivileged children, and the city’s Free Clinic Food Bank, which we support with regular donations of non-perishable items. Our meetings are held 5 times a year, at the Country Club, and are very well attended. Membership benefits include bulletins with alerts and weekly news; lotteries for free tickets to sporting events such as Rays games and the City’s Grand Prix; discounts at local stores (Tosti’s Liquors and the Ace Hardare on 34th Street); use of the website to register your pet in case your dog or cat wanders off; publication of your yard or garage sale or an event at an organization to which you belong. Members can also list their business or product on this web site.
It costs only $20.00 per year per household to join.
Option 1: Send a check payable to LECA for $20.00 to
Post Office Box 15903
St Petersburg FL 33733
Option 2: Use the Paypal link here or go to email@example.com
When your check or paypal payment has been received, your membership will be activated.
Dues will get you the weekly Friday Bulletin from Lakewood’s Google Group as well as alerts via the Lakewood Google group, and allow you to have your ads posted on the website for services or products, or announce a yard sale. A free yard sign informing visitors about our neighborhood cameras also comes with your membership. Our online Pet Registry allows you to post pets so that if your cat or dog (or even tortoise or parrot!) becomes lost, an alert can be sent to your neighbors asking them to keep eye out.
Dues are payable in January but are accepted all year round.
All our residents are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings to participate in our discussions about important issues in our neighborhood. These meetings are lively, end with door prizes and a 50/50 drawing, and rarely run more than 1.5 hours. The idea is to be kept informed but also to have fun.
(We will acknowledge your application, but you will not be a member until we receive dues.)
If you don’t hear back from us within three days (email can possibly go into junk folders these days), please contact Judy Ellis at firstname.lastname@example.org or 864-3957 to ask questions.
